Malcolm Knowles “The Adult Learner”
According to Malcolm Knowles, developer of the principle of Andragogy, adult learners differ very much from young learners.
Knowles’s book “The Adult Learner” consists of 3 parts. The first part is dedicated to the origin and basic principles of the science which is called andragogy. The second part tells about achievements and development of adult education. The third part includes modern data about development of the theory of andragogy.
Mr. Malcolm S. Knowles was one of the most famous people in the sphere of adult education. He took part in foundation and was executive director of the Adult Education Association. Knowles was also a professor of adult and community college education at the University of Jones S. Davis in North Carolina and distinguished professor of Human Recourse, Leadership and Organization at School of Human Resource Education in Louisiana State University Malcolm Knowles wrote several books about adult education and gave many training programs dedicated to this subject. He had an experience in the area of adult education more then 30 years. He is an author of more then 240 publications about adult education and human resources. This outstanding person was admitted to the Hall of Fame of International Adult Education and tp Human Resource Development Scholar.
